Project Overview
EWS Environmental Services recently completed the safe removal of an asbestos stench pipe, ensuring the elimination of a hazardous material in line with UK health and safety regulations. Asbestos was commonly used in older stench pipes and soil stacks due to its durability, but over time, these materials can deteriorate and become a serious health risk if fibres are released.
This project involved the careful dismantling and removal of an asbestos cement stench pipe, followed by responsible disposal and the installation of a modern, compliant replacement system which was capped off using an air admission valve.
