Project Overview
We were recently called out to respond to an emergency asbestos fly-tip removal on a public road, ensuring the hazardous waste was safely removed and the area was restored to a clean and safe condition. Illegally dumped asbestos presents a serious health and environmental risk, as its fibres can cause long-term respiratory illnesses if disturbed.
Our specialist team carried out the safe collection, removal, and disposal of asbestos waste, following strict UK health and environmental regulations.
Emergency Response & Risk Assessment
- Rapid on-site assessment to determine the scale of asbestos contamination.
- Identification of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and potential exposure risks.
- Implemented immediate safety precautions, including cordoning off the area to protect the public.
Safe Asbestos Waste Removal
- Trained professionals wearing specialist PPE for safe handling.
- Used controlled wetting techniques to minimise the risk of airborne fibre release.
- Carefully collected and double-bagged the asbestos waste in UN-approved hazardous material bags.
Responsible Disposal & Compliance
- Transported the asbestos waste to a licensed hazardous waste facility, following UK Environment Agency regulations.
- Provided full waste transfer documentation to ensure legal compliance and traceability.
- Decontaminated the site using approved cleaning methods to eliminate any residual asbestos fibres.
